Arsenal defender Gabriel has confirmed that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left the club because of a rift with the coaching staff, while adding that the players wanted him to stay. The striker joined Barcelona at the start of February after leaving the Emirates Stadium by mutual consent the day before. Aubameyang, 32, had not played for the Gunners since December 6, with Mikel Arteta stripping him of the captaincy later in the month. Chelsea owner Abramovich's 'links' to Vladimir Putin & "corrupt activity" claims

Image
Roman Abramovich 's relationship with Vladimir Putin has faced a fresh wave of scrutiny since the Russian president launched a full-scale attack on Ukraine on Thursday. Invading forces have closed in on Kyiv, the country's capital, but continue to face fierce resistance from defending forces which could foil Putin's plans. It has also heightened awareness of Chelsea 's potential links with Russia through the man who has owned the club since 2003, Abramovich. Once a regular attendee at Stamford Bridge, the 55-year-old is rarely seen in West London these days and did not visit the United Kingdom between 2018 and 2021 due to not having a visa. In an intriguing update on Saturday evening, Abramovich confirmed he would be relinquishing the "stewardship and care...

OFFICIAL: Head coach Marcelo Bielsa has 'parted company' with Leeds United

Image
Marcelo Bielsa has left Leeds United after three-and-a-half years in charge. The Argentine departs after a poor run of form, with just one point gained from the last 18 on offer, and with the side two points above the Premier League relegation zone and in serious danger of going down. Former RB Leipzig manager Jesse Marsch is in contention to replace Bielsa - the highest-paid manager in the club's history - at Elland Road. The 66-year-old was appointed in June 2018 after Paul Heckingbottom's sacking, and has led the club for more than three full seasons, ending a run of eight managers in the previous three-and-a-half years. His 140-match tenure marks him as the second-longest serving manager, behind Simon Grayson (169), since David O'Leary's stint at the turn of the millennium. Moreover, his record of 74 wins, 24 draws and 42 losses leaves him with a win percentage of 52.86 - the second-highest in history among Leeds managers with more than five games - narrowly behin...
